Exciting Visit from the Carducci Quartet27 April 2018 (by admin) |
News from Year 5
On Friday 27th of April, the Carducci Quartet came for a visit to Highnam Primary Academy. They began their time with us by taking our Collective Worship during which they played a variety of music written by famous composers. It was very enjoyable for the whole school as we were able to join in with clapping to the rhythm.
Afterwards, the year 5 pupils stayed behind and they enjoyed a Carducci Quartet workshop.
The Quartet came in because one of the team members used to be a pupil at Highnam School a few years ago.
Emma Denton, the ex-Highnm pupil, played the cello, Mathew Denton played the violin as well as Michelle Fleming and last but not least Owen Schmidt-Martin played the viola.
To sum it all up, the quartet played amazingly well and we loved being part of the performance. We are looking forward to their next visit already.
