Updates from our Children in Need fund raising

A big thank you to all involved in our Pennies for Pudsey Playground Challenge. On Monday last week we opened the MUGA pitch up which had a chalk outline of Pudesy Bear. Mrs Hazelden had been busy preparing the big bear and the school and village community were invited to bring in 1p, 2p, 5p and 10p and place them on the outline. Pupils staggered into school with bags of coins and it was great to see so many pupils helping raised funds for this inspiring charity. On Thursday we were joined by a number of special guest. Firstly, David and Nicky from BBC Radio Gloucestershire joined us for a special outdoor broadcast. Many villagers joined the pupils for a cake sale and brought along their pennies to put on Pudsey. Just after midday Pudsey himself arrived and was given a tour of the MUGA pitch and got to meet all the pupils. The whole event was captured by a drone and footage was even broadcast on BBC Points West on Friday evening. In total 'Pennies for Pudsey' raised over £650. A big thank you to the Academy Council for running the cake sale, to BBC Radio Glos, to Pudsey, Mrs Hazelden and all who supported this event. We had a great time raising money together for Children in Need. At the end of the week in total £956 had been raised for Children in Need - thank you to all involved.
