Highnam Church Of England Primary Academy

For the second year running the Highnam C of E Primary Academy Rugby team was crowned winner of the Ledbury Tag Rugby Festival. 32 teams from Gloucestershire and Herefordshire took part in this eagerly awaited annual festival. The competition had a morning of pool games which saw Highnam’s two teams selected to play in the Gold Trophy pool in the afternoon with Eastnor and Staunton and Corse. At the end of the afternoon the two Highnam teams finished in 1st and 2nd place respectively. The winning Highnam team won every game they played, and was captained by the inspirational Jack H. He led from the front scoring and creating a number of impressive tries. He was ably supported by Felicity, Sienna, Hannah, Louis, Woody, Harley, Ed and Nathan. The team strung a number of exciting, flowing moves together and were a joy to watch. The other Highnam team was led by Joseph and performed well on the day narrowly losing to the other Highnam team in the afternoon matches. A big thank you to parents and grandparents who helped with lifts and supported the teams so well.
