Dance opportunity with Strike-A-Light at Gloucester Academy
Over the past few weeks Freya and Zoe have been travelling to Gloucester Academy to be part of a Strike-A-Light dance festival run by ACE Dance company.
When we arrived we couldn't believe how professional the dance was going to be. There were lots of mirrors, a large performing space and about 12 willing dancers ready to learn a challenging routine. In total we had to be part of 5 sessions to prepare for the dance. a couple of the sessions were over the weekend and we were learning the routine from 11am in the morning until 4:30 in the afternoon. We were very tired but excited to be part of such an amazing dance.
The final performance was held at Gloucester Academy on Monday evening. Over 100 people were present to watch the dance. We wore black clothing and had our hair and make-up done!
"I was sad when it finished" commented Freya "it was so amazing!"
This experience has helped me grow as a dancer, it has been an fantastic opportunity." said Zoe proudly.
Our thanks to Nathan and Ciara for teaching us the choreography, to Strike-A-Light for organising the dance and to school for enabling us to be part of this wonderful dance spectacular.
