Swimming Gala 2014

Following a successful large school gala heat before half term Highnam took part in the Newent Swimming Gala 2014. The best swimmers from the Newent cluster were represented at the festival and the competition was fierce. A special mention to Hannah H for winning the Year 6 Girls Backstroke and Jamir-Ray in the Year 6 Boys Butterfly. A number of pupils finshed in 2nd or 3rd place in the individual events - super swimming!

Next it was the relay races. The Year 5 girls medley team got off to a great start winning gold. The Year 5 boys followed that up with a gold medal in their respective race. The next gold medal was won by the Year 5 frontcrawl team and that was followed by the Year 6 girl and boy team as well.
