Spider Poetry
In our Literacy lessons we have been frightened and inspired by spiders! We studied some examples of different spider poetry and wrote our own poems. Each poem had to be three verses long and include rhyming couplets. At home we all made a spider for the class display. Some were friendly while others were terrifying!
Spider Poem
Deadly the spider hangs,
Moving its sharp, blood covered fangs.
Danger the spider starts to crawl,
And searches for a fight or brawl.
Fiercely the spider crawls into a room,
She brings death and eventual doom.
Her web has caught a little bug,
And later on she’ll catch a slug.
She’s a tiny spider sitting in the gloom,
Waiting for her prey to enter the room.
In flew a little fly,
It should have stayed high in the sky!
