Harvest Festival and Sale

Yesterday Highnam Academy joined together in Collective Worship to celebrate harvest. Each class contributed to the programme with Reception providing painting of fruit and vegetable and Year 1 and 2 sang Harvest tIme has come. Next Year 3/4 R shared some harvest poems and 3/4 TH shared a Pie Corbett story called Stone Soup which focussed on sharing. In 5/6 T the pupils sang a song called Conkers and 5/6 R ended our time together with their own version of the Lord's Prayer and some harvest prayers. 

Mr Dean shared his art skills with us and we thought about three words that could be made from the word 

H A R V E S T  - Starve, Share & Heart.

In the afternoon we had our annual harvest sale. This year we raised about 150 pounds which is to be shared between the Gloucester Food Bank and Harvest for the Hungry, an organisation that supports less priviledge people in Eastern Europe.
