Highnam donate computers to IT Africa

Over the summer Highnam Academy donated a number of desktops and laptops to IT Africa. IT Schools Africa is a UK registered charity with a mission to transform IT education in Africa. Based in Cheltenham the charity collect old computers, refurbish, upgrade and distribute them to schools in Africa. By donating our computers Highnam Academy has helped African children to gain the essential IT skills they need to transform their education and future job prospects.

So far IT Africa has sent 35,000 computers to Africa, equipped 1,500 schools with IT labs, trained 750 teachers in IT and provided an estimated 3 million children with access to IT. Children in Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Madagascar and Tanzania benefit from the charity's work.

We trust the computers from Highnam Academy will help many more pupils to reach their potential in Africa.
