Highnam Win Tag Festival
The annual Newent Tag Rugby Festival took place this afternoon and Highnam were looking to defend the shield they won last year. This year Highnam had two teams at the festival. Highnam A were up against Picklenash Juniors, Ann Cam and Hartpury. Whilst the B team played Staunton and Corse, Redmarley and Tibberton.
Both teams got off to a great start winning their opening games. At the end of the group stage Highnam A had won all their matches and Highnam B had won two and narrowly lost two. Therefore Highnam A went through to the semi-finals where they played Staunton and Corse. After a super performance the team made it though to the final to play Picklenash Juniors. A close game saw Highnam just edge it winning 6-4.
Congratulations to all the players and we look forward to seeing Highnam A in the district festival soon.
