Visit from the Jewish Community
This term Year 5 and 6 have been learning all about the Jewish faith. Today, with much excitement, they welcomed into the Academy Mrs Sue Naydorf. During her presentation she shared all about the Sabbath, the special day for celebration. The Jewish Sabbath or Shabbat begins at sundown Friday night and ends at nightfall on Saturday. This day of rest is one of the most important holy days in the Jewish calendar and it's considered a holiday. The pupils also found out about Kosher foods, the food that conform to Jewish law.
