Planetarium Visit Wows Pupils
Excited screams were witnessed throughout the day.....coming from the visiting planetarium dome in the main hall. Children were wide-eyed with excitement as they entered and left the dome following their visit. When asked what happened they were very keen to explain that they were nearly hit by an approaching meteorite. Others talked about the effects of gravity in space and the difficulties encountered by astronauts when eating and using the toilet. Meanwhile some children thoroughly enjoyed the movements of stars and planets in the cosmos. Certainly, experiencing rocket travel to distant planets and moons was really enlightening.
It was an excellent day and brought the subject of space to life for the children. The presentations and speaker were inspirational and the planetarium was greatly enjoyed by all.
