Egyptian Cooking Trip
Today we travelled to Newent School for an Egyptian themed cookery lesson. We were greeted by our teacher and told what we were going to be making. Excitedly, we washed our hands, got our aprons on and got into our groups ready to make our pitta bread and hummus.
To start with we worked in a group of 4 to make the hummus, we had to mix all the ingredients into a large bowl and we learnt all about spoons - table, dessert and tea! Next we used the blender and food processor to make the hummus and we shared it out equally between the group.
After a short demonstration we started to make the pitta bread. This time we were working in pairs and followed a new set of instructions. Once we had shaped the flour we placed it on a baking tray and grilled both sides for a couple of minutes.
We thoroughly enjoyed our cooking workshop and the 90minutes just flew by! A big thank you to the staff at Newent School for a great trip.
When we got back to school we had a taste..yum!
