Year 6 Climbing Adventure
We have an exciting curriculum at Highnam Academy and one special adventurous activity all the pupils look forward to is the visit to 'The Warehouse' climbing centre in Gloucester. A group of four pupils visit on Friday afternoon during the Spring term. There they learn about climbing safely and have the opportunity to climb for the whole afternoon.
It is great to see the support each pupil gets from the others on the ground and those overcoming fears of heights as they talk on the various climbing walls and ladders.
"I had never been to the climbing centre before and am afraid of heights. I was really proud of how high I climbed and I completed the ladder challenge," remarked Matthew in Year 6.
