Wonderful Vicky Holland Visit
On Wednesday 18th November Highnam Academy welcomed Vicky Holland into the Academy to share her inspiring story to becoming one of the top triathletes in the world. Vicky was brought up in Gloucestershire and was one of the first athletes to book her place at the Rio Olympics next year.
Firstly, she shared with the whole school in assembly. It was fascinating to hear about her training schedule, her perseverance and drive to succeed. Afterwards she presented the Sainsbury's Gold Mark to the school. Recently, they received the great news they had been awarded the Sainsbury’s Games GOLD mark for the second year in a row.
It was so inspiring to hear about Vicky’s journey to the Rio Olympics and we can’t wait to see her in action next year. We had a brilliant time with her in school and would like to thank her for presenting the cross country medals, the Gold mark and for taking a great cross country session.
