Highnam Church Of England Primary Academy

Congratulations to all pupils in the school who contributed to a memorable house music event this week. Pupils had been working hard over the past few weeks to prepare for the much anticipated competition. This year we welcomed into the Academy Mrs Smith and Mrs Humble as our guest judges. Each house had to prepare 4 elements: Key Stage 1 group, Individual Singer, Individual Musician and Whole House Number. The afternoon began with some lovely music from the flute and drums. Well done to Ed, Dan, Phoebe and Martha for playing so well in this section. Next up we heard from Grace, Ilsa, Macauley and Talia in the individual solo section. Next up was the Key Stage 1 round, a firm favourite with the judges and audience! After hearing from a talented Lucy on the guitar the final result was announced. The competition was extremely close but Wetherleigh were crowned overall winner by 3 points. A big thank you to all the pupils for their energy, enthusiasm and talent. Finally, thank you to all staff for supporting the pupils with the learning of the songs.
