On Wednesday 7th June, Charlotte, Teyah, Jacob, Calum, Duncan, Ruth, Katie, Matthew and William went to an archery competition at Newent School and won against two other schools. At first we were nervous and very doubtful, but when we started, we realised that we could do it and we took the lead from the beginning. "Every time we got a gold - which was quite a lot - I cheered as loud as I could and when I got a gold, I was absolutely ecstatic!" quote from our team member, Ruth. We were so surprised when, in nine arrows, the first set of three in our group got an astonishing score of eighty-one! Duncan, William and Jacob had a score only nine off the highest possible score - in nine arrows! We continued our winning streak by never being lower than first, and ended only eight hundred and eighteen. As well as the achievement of winning the whole thing as a team, we also had the highest scoring pupil overall: Duncan! To finish the exciting morning, we relaxed in the car and had a digestive biscuit! We all had a great time and a great score!
