Tag Rugby Tournament at Ledbury Rugby Club

Last Friday Highnam took part in a large tag-rugby festival at Ledbury Rugby Club. The weather was dreadful but the team performed well despite of the conditions. In between matches the team was able to shelter under a gazebo kindly purchased by the PTC.

In the first game Highnam played Ashpurton B and lost a close game 7-6. Well done to James who scored 3 tries in the game. Next Highnam played Much Birch winning 10-2 with tries from Joseph, Adam, Dan and Christopher. The final group match was against Colwall and Highnam this time won 8-2 with tries from Ben, Christopher, Dan J, James and Adam.

After lunch it was announced that Highnam was through to play in the cup competition and faced the favourites Ashpurton . Ashpurton ran out eventual winners 5-3 with the Highnam tries from Joseph, Christopher and Sian. Congratulations to Ashpurton who beat Gorsley Goffs in the final to win the competition.
