Rugby Stars visit Academy
This week Danielle Waterman and Jonny May visited the Academy to judge the Wooden Spoon competition. The Wooden Spoon Charity was founded in 1983 and since then has been making a difference to the lives of disadvantaged children and young people. The charity is inspired by its rugby heritage, our values of passion, integrity, teamwork, and fun have so far helped over 1 million young people and children in need.
At the start of the morning we all watched a video showing the best bits of both our rugby visitors. Afterwards the pupils were able to ask Danielle and Jonny some questions about their careers and their inspirations. Next we all went for a run out on the playground and played a game called Finding Nemo. Afterwards Mr Dean announced the class winners of the Wooden Spoon competition and we heard from Mrs Burgess who is preparing for the London Marathon.

Overall £200 was raised for the Wooden Spoon Charity and we had a wonderful morning with our rugby visitors. Many thanks to Mr Burgess for organising the visit and to Danielle and Jonny for coming to see us!
