Report about the trip to Caerleon

Firstly we arrived at school and then after registration we got ready to go to Caerleon. After that we got on to the coach and set off on our journey. It was a lot of fun on the coach I sat next to Isabella and we played lots of games. Finally we got to Caerleon and got off the coach. Before we went to see the amphitheatre we went to the toilets. Ten minutes later we went to meet our guide Bob and he talked about the amphitheatre and the barracks. It was very exciting. We were able to have a pretend fight between some gladiators and wild animals.

After that we went to the baths and Mrs House noticed a footprint left from a roman or a citizen on a wall. It was really amazing and exciting to visit the baths. Next it was time for lunch and we had lunch in the museum garden under a gazebo. I had some jam sandwiches, some fruit and a biscuit.

Half an hour later we went to the Capricon centre. First we watched a short animation film about Roman times. Five minutes later, we went to a pretend barrack room and tried on some children sized armour - it was great fun! Next, we were taken to a small Roman villa and we played slaves and masters it was really enjoyable. I was a slave. After that we all walked to the museum and a lady called ’Sarah’ guided us around it was very exciting. We had to hunt around the museum for various Roman artefacts.

Finally we all got back on the coach and drove back to school. I had a superb time and would like to go back to Caerleon some time.
