Newent Cross Country Success

Yesterday the primary schools in the Newent cluster joined together for an afternoon of cross country races. There were four races in total a Year 5/6 girls and Year 5/6 boys district selection race and a Year 3/4 girls and boys race. Highnam took twenty pupils along and all performed very well.

Izzy (3rd), Hannah (5th) and Kelsey (9th) finished in the top 10 and therefore qualified for the district race at Laker's School on the 14th November. Next up was the boys' race and again 3 boys qualified: Cameron (2nd), Haydn (5th) and Ed (6th).  A special mention to Luke and Jacob B, year four boys who entered the Year 5/6 race and finished in 13th and 18th respectively.

The final races were the Year 3/4 races - well done to Sienna and Jack H both finishing 5th in their race. A fabulous team performance and a big thank you to parents for transporting the pupils and supporting them throughout. It was great to see pupils and parents encouraging the team throughout the afternoon.
