Girls Win Cup Double

Congratulations to the Highnam Girls team for winning the GSPFA Knock Out cup on Friday night. This year has been the first time Highnam have had a girls team and they have had a fabulous first season. Following their success in the Forest of Dean Cup it was the turn of the Glocuester Cup and local rivals Hempsted.

The match kicked off at 4pm on Friday evening and the girls were soon in their stride with an early goal from Ella. Hempsted drew level soon after but after that it was all Highnam with goals from Kelsey and Amy before half time. In the second half Izzy took over the scoring with three quick goals and the match ended 6-1 to Highnam. 

Congratualtions to the team for a terrific first season, to Mrs Townsend for coaching the team and to the many supporters that have help transport the team around the county to play their matches.
