Highnam triumph at Newent Swimming Gala
Today a team of 21 pupils took part in the Newent Primary Schools Swimming Gala. Our team was competing against Picklenash, Ann Cam and Tibberton. Joseph, Charlotte, Oscar, William and Dan got us off to a good start by winning their individual races.
This gives them a place in the Gala Final on 23rd March
The Relays followed the individual races. The Year 6 boys' team consisting of Christopher, Oscar, Leon and Joseph won both the Medley and Freestyle relays. Well done also to the Year 6 girls team (Sarah, Ottalie, Grace and Sophie) who came first in the Frontcrawl relay. All the other relay teams finished in second place, which was fantastic. This means they may still qualify for the Gala Finals.
We all waited expectantly as Mr Mills read out the final team results.
