Cross Country Success at Newent

On Tuesday 19th October, Highnam C of E Primary School took part in the cluster cross country race held at Newent School. On a beautiful afternoon a team of fourteen took part in four different races. There was a girls and boys year 3/4 race and a girls and boys year 5/6 race.

In the girls' year 3/4 race Charlotte finished on 3rd place, Abigail 5th, Emily 6th and Isobelle finished 9th. In the boys' year 3/4 race Alex G finished 1st, Harry E was 2nd, Haydn 6th and Harry R came in 35th.

In the girls' year 5/6 race Liddy comfortably won the race and Lucy finished 24th. The final race was the boys' year 5/6 race and Adam finished 1st, Tom 5th, Sam 10th and Teagan 16th.

The team performed very well and a number of pupils have been selected to represent Newent in the district race later in the year.
